How to change a company address in Nepal

Last updated: 2026-09-04 Official sources: Office of the Company Registrar

The registered address is the company’s official address for notices. Not telling the office after you move means government correspondence does not reach you, which is how problems start.

The process

  1. Proof for the new addressPrepare a rent agreement or ownership document. A rented address may need ward office certification.
  2. ResolvePass the resolution at a board meeting — or a special general meeting for a multiple-shareholder company.
  3. Prepare documentsDraft the application, the minute and amended MOA/AOA where required.
  4. FileSubmit with the Section 184 address information.

Moving to another municipality or district

Moving to a different local level can mean registering the business afresh there and getting a cancellation or recommendation from the old one. Crossing a provincial boundary can add steps. Ask both local offices before you move.
